Job Opportunity at Dialogue by Design
An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Dialogue by Design and we are hoping to fill the post of:
Project Manager, Stakeholder and Public Engagement
Dialogue by Design is a small but growing company working at the
leading edge of consultation and citizen engagement processes
using both the Internet and face-to-face techniques. Our work
centres on engagement processes around environmental issues, sustainable
development, science and technology, corporate social responsibility,
local participation and democracy as well as other strategic issues
organisations want or need to consult on.
We work in the public and private sectors and over the past few
years have run projects for, amongst others, BERR, Defra, The
Environment Agency, DIUS, The World Business Council for Sustainable
Development, The World Bank, Cambridge, Essex, Kent, Surrey and
Bedfordshire County Councils, the North West Regional Assembly,
The British Wind Energy Association, Shell, Thames Water and the
Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.
We have developed innovative methods of running consultations
over the Internet and integrating these with face-to-face stakeholder
and public engagement processes. For more information please have a look around our website.
We are looking to grow our team of project managers. This new
appointment will work closely with our directors to oversee and
implement the delivery of projects. The work will include:
- Working closely with IT managers and Project Directors in
the design and implementation of face-to-face and electronic
consultations
- Analysing and reporting on consultation and participation
findings
- Recruiting and liaising with stakeholders and participants
in consultation and engagement exercises
- Organising meetings and events
- Liaising with partners, facilitators and clients
- Managing systems to ensure the smooth running of projects,
including project management systems and databases
- Taking responsibility for analysis and reporting of consultation
and engagement processes.
- Managing associate and support staff as required.
You will be educated to degree level and above, and ideally have
several years working experience of working with clients, customers
and partners.
You will be enthusiastic, able to work both on your own and using
your own initiative, and as part of a small team. You will have
experience in some or all of the following areas:
- Consultation and engagement processes. You will have a good
understanding of the theory and practice of engagement processes.
If you have experience as a facilitator this is an advantage
but we will provide training for those who show aptitude.
- Project management. You will have experience of day to day
management of projects such as planning, designing and implementing
a consultation process or outreach programme
- A strong analytical and research background. Much of our
work involves analysing and reporting on large amounts of qualitative
data. The ability to analyse information and report effectively
is a vital part of this job.
- Much of our consultation work involves web-based and paper
based processes. We have developed our own applications for
setting up and running consultation and engagement processes,
using online forms and databases to gather and collate findings.
You will need to show you have the skills to work with these
tools or at least the aptitude to learn.
It is important that you have good interpersonal skills, can
work in a small team and build good relationships with clients
and stakeholders alike.
Our offices are in Thornton Heath in South London (a short train
ride from Victoria and Clapham Junction).
