The Environment Agency - Modernising consultation
The Environment Agency is one of government's greatest users of public consultation processes, so we were delighted to win a tender to review its consultation practices and suggest ideas for modernising them.
As part of this extensive project we worked with Agency staff to draft a set of guidelines on consultation for use within the Agency. We then killed two birds with one stone by using our software to review the guidelines, thereby also allowing Agency staff to experience the use of software as an aid to consultation.
In the first of two sessions around twenty Agency staff first commented in detail on the draft guidelines, which were then extensively revised, and then in the second session were able to comment further both on the revised guidelines and on other plans for modernising consultation.
